Projects

We are actively looking for new projects to support. We are appealing to individuals and companies working in Latin America to help identify suitable projects. We ask our friends in the travel industry, tour operators, hotels, ground agents and travellers to Latin America to put us in touch with NGOs and not-for-profit organisations in the region. Our projects team can be contacted on projects@latafoundation.org.

Who can apply for support?

Any Latin America based charitable operation or registered NGO with proposals for work in areas connected to tourism, and which satisfy the criteria of the LATA Foundation  may apply for funding.  Charities working in Latin America but registered in the UK or Ireland may also apply for funding for projects but may be subject to additional checks and scrutiny. We do not at present have resources to check charities registered elsewhere.   

The LATA Foundation has set up a projects committee of volunteers to assess and consider projects for recommendation to the trustees for approval.

Projects should ideally be in communities that already have some link to tourism. Any project should be related to the tourism industry and its impact. In addition, any project that the LATA Foundation supports must provide exclusively charitable public benefit.
