Latin America Society: Leicester University - 2 February.
The Latin America Society of Leicester University chose the LATA Foundation to be the beneficiary of a fundraising event this year for which we were happy to donate some raffle prizes. Their "Break that Piñata" event at the Students Union on 2 February raised £100.
Andrea Hurtado de Mendoza, President of the Latin America Society, reports: "We hope this money will help the wonderful projects you are supporting throughout Latin America. We decided to donate the money to general funds and we entrust you to use the money to support the project or projects in most need. We would also like to thank you for all your wonderful support for our event."
We are grateful to the Mexico Tourism Board and to Bradt Travel Guides who also donated raffle prizes.

Responsible Business Exhibition: Business Design Centre, Islington - 14-15 March
The LATA Foundation has been awarded a free stand at the 2012 exhibition. Please come and visit us on Stand No 2 on the right as you enter the show.
Karen Heale, the Exhibition Manager, told us: "I am very keen to make sure that we do include charities that are entirely run by volunteers. It is often smaller charities who would not usually get the opportunity to spend time networking or meeting with other charity workers and businesses who make the most of the opportunity. We are very pleased to include the LATA Foundation in the exhibition in 2012."
